Information regarding maintenance work
Danger
When working on electrical con-
nections, injuries may occur as a
result of electrical current if the
Stirling engine has not cooled
down. Contact with the Stirling
engine can also lead to burns.
■ Only work on the Stirling
engine when the head temper-
ature has fallen below 50 °C.
The Stirling head temperature
is displayed in parameter 8360
(see page 116).
■ Never move or shake the Stir-
ling engine if its electrical con-
nections have been disconnec-
ted or the control unit has been
removed.
■ Allow at least 7 min to elapse
after switching off the appli-
ance before touching the
capacitor terminals.
■ Only work on the Stirling
burner, the auxiliary burner and
the heating surface when these
have cooled down.
■ When working on components
containing water, ensure that
moisture does not enter the
control unit or the power supply
unit.
■ Never damage or open the Stir-
ling engine or subject it to
mechanical loads.
Maintenance work on the Stirling engine
The Stirling engine is more or less main-
tenance-free. The Stirling generator is
maintenance-free. Ceramic materials
are used in the Stirling engine. If work
still has to be performed on the Stirling
engine, ensure that ceramic particles are
not released.
Danger
Fibre dust can result in a risk to
health.
Take appropriate safety meas-
ures when working on the Stirling
engine. Wear a P2 respirator.
Never damage or mechanically
work on the thermal insulation of
the Stirling engine. Observe the
stipulations of the Technical
Guidelines for the Handling of
Hazardous Materials (TRGS) [or
local regulations].
