Viega Smart Loop
Zero Lead Internal Recirculation Kit
Viega products are designed to be
installed by licensed and trained plumbing
and mechanical professionals who are
familiar with Viega products and their
installation. Installation by non-professionals
may void Viega LLC’s warranty.
Ensure tubing is still protruding from the
bottom opening before making this cut.
Zero Lead identifies Viega® products
meeting the lead free requirements of NSF
61-G through testing under NSF/ANSI
372 (0.25% or less maximum weighted
average lead content).
Use only included ⅜ " stainless steel press
sleeves marked 316.
1 The Zero Lead Smart Loop internal recirculation kit is
designed to work with standard 1" Viega ProPress
®
tees. Use a tee instead of an elbow at each end of
your riser, leaving a 1" press connection on each
end to accept the Smart Loop adapters.

Square off tubing. Uneven, jagged or irregular cuts
will produce unsatisfactory connections.

Feed the PureFlow PEX from the top working it
down until it protrudes out the bottom a minimum
of 6 inches. Square off the PureFlow PEX at the
top leaving a few inches exposed.
4 Slide the included press sleeve

fully over the
top end of the PureFlow PEX tubing. Ensure full
tubing insertion at view hole in press sleeve.

Fully insert Smart Loop top adapter

into
PureFlow PEX tubing.

Position press tool perpendicular over press sleeve
and close tool jaws to engage ratchet. Continue
ratcheting until automatic tool release occurs
ensuring a secure PEX press joint.

Fully insert Smart Loop top adapter

into 1"
opening. Make the Viega ProPress connection.

8 At bottom of the riser, pull the PureFlow PEX tight
then square off leaving approximately one inch of
PureFlow PEX tubing exposed from the bottom 1"
opening.
9 Holding the PureFlow PEX tubing so it does not
retreat back inside the riser, slide the second
included press sleeve
4 fully over the end of
tubing (see step 4).
10 Fully insert PEX adapter

into PureFlow PEX
tubing.
11 Position press tool perpendicular over press sleeve
and make the press (see step 6).
12 Slide the bottom adapter

over the PEX adapter
and insert it into the 1" bottom opening until the
machined groove on the bottom adapter

lines
up with the bottom edge of 1" opening.
13 Make a Viega ProPress connection on the 1" opening.

Make a Viega ProPress connection on the PEX
adapter.

Extend off of the ½" PEX adapter stub with ½"
Viega ProPress fittings. This is the hot water return.
