4.11 Safety for Starting and Stopping

Ensure the drawbar is in good condition and fastened and secured to the MATV.
N O T I CE :

Pay extra attention to the instructions on the gasoline engine. Be sure
that the machine guarding is adequate.
◼
The mowing power is supplied from the gasoline engine. Refer to your Briggs & Stratton
manual for instructions. Know how to stop the engine and mower quickly in an emergency.
◼
The engine is equipped with a centrifugal clutch.
The engine starts at idle speed; the rotor shaft will not turn. Before mowing, you activate the
throttle to the fixed rate of 3150 rpm. The rotor shaft starts running.

Never modify the equipment in any way. Unauthorized modification
could result in severe injury or death and may impair the function and
life of the equipment.
Calamities are unintended or unexpected events related to an activity's quality. These events have
severe harmful consequences, up to and including death. This includes any accident that directly or
indirectly results in device damage and personal injury to one or more persons.
Concerning this MATV mower, calamities arise when unauthorized persons use the machine.

Working with unfamiliar equipment can lead to careless injuries. Read this manual entirely and
the manual for your ATV before assembly or operating to acquaint yourself with the
equipment.

Suppose any person uses this machine other than you or is loaned or rented. In that case, the
Flail mower owner's responsibility is to ensure that the owner's manual is available to the
operator before operating.
◼
Any operator matching the user description in the manual must read and understand the
Operator's manual.
◼
Always know your controls and how to stop the engines in an emergency quickly.
