Testing the full field
spreading pattern with
the border spreading
plate
Reducing the PTO shaft rpm and closing the right spreading disc also
have an influence on the spreading pattern on the left side of the
spreader. The full field spreading pattern should therefore be tested
when using the border spreading plate.
Follow the instructions, adjusted for border spreading, as described in
→
paragraph »Full field spreading pattern test« on page 85.
Operation

Do not change the position of the border spreading plate and
disconnect the right spreading disc.
With the first time:

Do not change the settings of the spreader, the PTO shaft rpm or
the driving speed as these should be the same as settings for
border spreading.
With the second time:

Remove the border spreading plate.

Set the dosing unit of the right spreading disc to the same position
as the left spreading disc.

Set the spreader for full field spreading,

Set the PTO shaft to 540 rpm

Adjust the speed of the tractor so that you drive at the same speed
as with the first time, or change the application rate proportional to
the driving speed.
Assessment
The middle buckets could contain less application rate. The pattern on
illustration B from
→
paragraph »Full field spreading pattern test« on page 85.
This is because of the lower PTO shaft rpm.
The level of the middle measuring tube in border spreading could be
25% lower than with the outer graduated tubes.
