To specify the tuning on the Main screen, do the following:

Press the

soft key.

Use the Laser action buttons to specify the Tuning Mode:
Frequency

Wavelength
or
Channel
.

If you selected Wavelength, click on the wavelength field, and use the
keypad to enter the wavelength.

If you selected Channel, click on the channel field, and use the keypad to
enter the channel.

If you selected Frequency, specify the frequency. The value entered will
be converted and the available wavelength and/or channel ranges
appear.
If the transceiver being tuned is capable of channel only or wavelength only
tuning, the user selected value will be translated to the appropriate value and
tuning method respectively. If the device is tunable by both wavelength and
channel, the software will determine the closest channel (50 GHz spacing)
and wavelength(50 nm spacing) value. The tuning method with the smallest
difference to the user selected value will be used to tune the transceiver.
The transceiver is tuned.
Testing Optics and Cables
The Optics Self-Test and the Cable Test scripts are available for all 10G/25G/40G/100G
interfaces on T-BERD/MTS. They allow users to verify the proper operation and stability
of the CFP, CFP2, CFP4, QSFP28, QSFP+, SFP+, or SFP28 transceiver(s) connected
to their 5800v2, 5800-100G, or CSAM. The Optics Self-Test and Cable Test applications
appear as the topmost entries in the Start Test menu.
The Optics Self-Test or Cable Test verify signal presence, level (at all possible rates),
and rejection of excessive skew. They also allow you to specify a BER threshold and
maximum Offset (in PPM). You can save and reload the test configuration, and observe
results for the underlying application while the test is running using the
Go To...
button.
The Cable Test enables users to test optical or copper cables terminated by SFP or
QSFP cages in a 5800v2 and 5800-100G.
