To delete characters in a text:
To insert characters in a text:
Quitting the Edit menu
– Press the Cancel key to quit without saving the action performed
(onto the keyboard or on the screen).
– Press the Enter key to quit the menu while saving the text entered
(onto the keyboard or on the screen).
Numeric
Keypad
For some configuration parameters, you will have to enter numeric
values. The direction keys of the 4000 Platform can be used. However,
the user can also use the numeric keypad, displayed when the
Edit
Number key is pressed.
Click on
E
DIT
N
UMBER
to display the Numeric Keypad.
Without Touch Screen Using Touch Screen
- Go into Replace mode and move
the cursor on to the character to be
deleted.
- Move the cursor on to Back (or
Del ) and press the E
NTER
valida-
tion key.
Repeatedly pressing this same key
will delete the preceding (or
following) characters.
- Go into Replace mode and posi-
tion the cursor on to the character
to delete.
- Click on the Back touch (or Del )
Repeatedly clicking on this same
key will delete the preceding (or
following) characters
Without Touch Screen Using Touch Screen
- Go into Insert mode and place the
cursor on the name at the insertion
point.
- Using the direction keys, move
the cursor on to the first character
to be inserted.
- Press the
E
NTER
validation key.
Repeat the process for the other
characters to be inserted.
- Go into Insert mode and place the
cursor on the name at the insertion
point.
- Directly click on the character you
want

characters to be inserted.
