Connecting to FiberChekPRO
Connecting to FiberChekPRO
To operate an FVAm microscope that does not feature a touchscreen display module, you must use the
FiberChekPRO Automated Fiber Inspection and Analysis software. For an FVAm microscope with a touchscreen,
most operations can be performed using either the touchscreen plus onboard controls or FiberChekPRO.
However, some operations, such as firmware updates, can be performed only via FiberChekPRO.
Step 1 Start FiberChekPRO.
Step 2 Power on the FVAm microscope.
Step 3 Connect the USB-B cable to the USB port at the rear panel of the microscope and to the computer where
FiberChekPRO is running.
FiberChekPRO automatically discovers the microscope. The device ID and stored-data information
appear on the
Import
page of the application window.
If a fiber optic cable or pluggable transceiver is connected to the FVAm microscope, click the
Inspection
tab to view a live image of the fiber connector. The
FOCUS
meter indicates whether the focus quality is
suitable for inspection. To toggle between a low- and high-magnification view, click the
Magnification
image control.
