5.11.4 Configuration
The VFLM-70 is configured using its front panel. The essential
parameters are the IP address and subnet mask of its Ethernet
interface as well as various satellite interface parameters. The VFLM-70
is usullay configured with an IP address at the main Hub subnet
10.1.1.0/24, e.g. 10.1.1.47/24.
Make sure the correct version of the VFLM is running. This can be
determined from Status menu from the front panel of the VFLM
equipment. The correct version details can be found from the ArcLight
release notes.
The following is a list of the parameters and possible values to be
configured on the VFLM front panel. Make sure that the Transmitter is
“OFF” before changing any of the parameters. To disable the VFLM
Transmitter use the Transmitter
-> Setup -> ON/OFF.

IPAddress = 10.1.1.47

CenterFreq = 70000
Data Rates (kbps) = 03500 (this sets it for 3.5Mbps)
Chips Per Symbol = 03
Scramble = ON
Unique Word = DA46A8C0
LRS Taps = 0000A011
LRS Config word = 00000001
Max TX BW = 48600
Modulation = QPSK
Output Power = -22.0dB
Random Data = OFF
BufferSize = 00300000
Buffer Almost Full = 002700000
Buffer Almost Empty= 002200000
Transmit Enable = ON (this would turn the FLM ON)
NOTE: When everything is working the VFLM-70 should have Tx
Enable Light ON and the Tx Activity LED should flicker denoting
the satellite traffic activity.
What not to do:
•
Do not configure the VFLM-70 while Transmitter is ON
•
Do not configure the VFLM-70 in Rx or Tx loopback mode
(unless you are troubleshooting and altering the network layout)
