Chapter 4 - Principles of Operation
4.2.1 Servo Assembly
The Servo Assembly (Figure 4.3) is equipped with a Motorola 68302
microprocessor and serves as the main pedestal control interface. This
assembly provides digital position and rate loop closure as well as torque
bias control. In the Autotrack mode, the Servo Assembly reads tracking
errors from the Autotrack board and uses these errors to close the servo
loops. This assembly also provides control signals to the pedestal or
positioner (other than the interface to the synchros/resolvers) such as limits,
interlocks, power amplifier control, brake control, and others.
