Chapter 2 - Installation
No adjustments are required before initial turn-on.
2.5.1 Initial Turn-on and Checkout
Perform the following procedures to verify that the digital controller is in
proper working order.
a) Apply power to control console.
b) Set POWER switch on the Series 3860 Digital Controller front or rear
panel to ON. The internal microprocessor initiates all front-panel
functions and selects STANDBY mode.
c) Verify that power indicator is lit and that BIT diagnostics register no
faults. Initial display should appear as follows:
RUNNING SELF TEST
MEMORY CHECK: OK
SERVO BOARD 8: PRESENT
AUTOTRACK BD1: PRESENT
SERVO BOARD 9: NOT PRESENT
AUTOTRACK BD2: NOT PRESENT
STEPTRACK MODULE INSTALLED
RUNNING SELF TEST — will always appear.
MEMORY CHECK: — should indicate OK.
SERVO BOARD 8: PRESENT —
should indicate PRESENT; will indicate
NOT PRESENT if communication
failure occurs or board is not installed.
(The servo board's bus address is 8; if a
second servo board is installed, its bus
address is 9.)
AUTOTRACK BD1: PRESENT — should indicate PRESENT if configured
for autotrack; will indicate NOT
PRESENT if communication failure
occurs or board is not installed.
SERVO BOARD 9: PRESENT —
will indicate PRESENT if second servo
board is installed; will indicate NOT
PRESENT if board is installed and
