2.4.6 GPS Time-code Interface
A serial interface from the 3860 to a Datum 9390-6000 ExacTime GPS Time
Code and Frequency Generator is provided on connector J104. This interface
is used by the 3860 to read the current time and synchronize its internal
timebase to the Datum. Signals may be found on the following pins:
Pin 2 – Transmit Data from the 3860
Pin 8 – Receive Data
Pin 5 – Signal Return
This interface conforms to RS-232 data format. The following characteristics
apply:

2.4.7 Power Input
For all installations, the power line neutral must be common to
the neutral supplied to the pedestal power input. Severe
electrical shock or equipment damage may result from failure
to observe this warning.
A 7.5-foot, 3-wire power cord is supplied with each unit. The input power
connector is located at the rear of the unit. The input power requirements are
listed in Table 1.1.

Checkout
Before applying power to the system, read the operation instructions
provided with all other equipment used with the system and become familiar
with the operating controls and indicators. A list of these related publications
is given in Chapter 1 of the system manual.
