Checking electronics
WARNING!
Risk of injury from loss of functionality!
Malfunctions or damage to the assistance system lead to a loss of func-
tionality or failure of the assistance system. This could result in dan-
gerous situations and serious injuries.
– In the event of damage, malfunctions or uncertainty, take the
Smart
Fork
®
out of operation immediately. Contact customer service
and inform them of the issue.

Check the electronic components of the Smart
Fork
®
:

Check the application for proper functionality. In the event of insufficient functionality,
immediately ban further use of the Smart
Fork
®
. Commissioning may only be carried
out after a successful repair.

Check all plug connections on the electronic components to ensure an ATEX-com-
pliant plug connection. Plugs must be plugged in securely and be free of play.
Retighten loose plug connections. Replace the plug connection if this is not possible.

Check the cables for damage, cracks or kinks. Take the fork arm out of service imme-
diately if the cables are damaged. Note the instructions for repair
“Replacing the application” on page 45

Wear check
NOTICE!
Danger of accident due to worn fork arms!
The load capacity of the fork arms is impaired if the fork arms are worn.
Use thereof can (e.g. due to material breakage under high loads) can
cause serious accidents. The wear check is part of the fork arms inspec-
tion as per ISO 5057.
– Perform a wear check at least once a year.
The explosion protection is always maintained as the fork arms are man-
ufactured from solid stainless steel material. The wear check is intended
to ensure the minimum mechanical load.
