Risk of injury from a defective locking device!
– Replace damaged locking devices immediately.
– If the locking device is missing, it must be replaced before commissioning.
– Do not use the fork arms without a locking device.

The locking device prevents undesired lateral movement of the fork arms on the

profile of the fork carrier. Uncontrolled movement of the fork arms during trans-

portation could cause serious injuries due to the load slipping.

Check the open and lock positions of the lever. It must be possible to move the lever

to the respective position without any difficulty by applying light pressure. If the

locking device is jamming, check it for dirt and deformation and, if in doubt, replace

it.

Check the integrity of the locking device (Fig. 6/13 – 16). Replace any missing com-

ponents immediately. If the locking device is incomplete, immediately ban any fur-

ther use of the fork arm. Commissioning must only be carried out after a successful

repair.

Remove any dirt from the locking device.

Shaft fork arm locking device

Depending on the operator's requirements and intended use, shaft fork arms are sup-

plied as follows: either freely movable on the shaft, using adjusting rings on both sides

of the two shaft fork arms, or with a locking screw on the shaft.

Always observe the following:

Check that all the screws for the safeguarding device are in place. Replace missing

or defective screws immediately. It must be possible to firmly tighten screws.

If present, the adjusting rings must be fitted with screws and be fixable on the shaft.

If present, the locking screw must be inserted in the shaft and firmly tightened.

Remove any dirt from the safeguarding device.
