Using the Phone Relocation Feature [D]
DIGITAL PHONES
When automatic phone relocation is enabled on the Wave Server, you can quickly move a
previously-working digital phone to another location (for example if a user switches offices)
and retain all phone-specific information—programmed feature buttons, speed dial numbers,
and so forth—at the new location with no need to manually reassign the phone’s extension or
reprogram feature buttons after the move.
Some specific conditions apply in order for automatic phone relocation to work as expected.
Contact your Wave Administrator for more information.
For details, see “Enabling automatic phone relocation” in Chapter 16 of the Wave Global
Administrator Guide.
Phone Relocation vs. Auto Recognition
All digital phones support the phone relocation feature described above. The following digital
phones also support auto recognition:
•
Edge 100 (12- and 24-button)
•
Impact SCS 80xx (12- and 24-button)
•
Impact SCS 83xx (12- and 24-button)
With auto recognition, when one of these previously working digital phones is plugged in at a
new location, you are asked if you want to retain the extension and all phone-specific
information at the new location.
For details about both methods, see “Enabling automatic phone relocation” in Chapter 16 of the
Wave Global Administrator Guide

Privacy
The privacy feature is used to mark a call as private which means that shared line appearances
will be prevented from breaking into the call.
Additionally, a held private call can not be retrieved by a shared line appearance. Privacy is
generated from any privacy enabled party to all parties in a call.
Transferring or parking a private call removes privacy from the call.
