RS-232C Commands
The available commands are listed below. They are explained on the following pages, to-
gether with short examples. Each command has to be followed by a line feed
(LF, \n, 0x0a)
and then a carriage return
(CR, \r, 0x0d)
. It is important to keep to this order!
INFORMATION! (Response to commands)
The MDC 3200
+
gives a response to every command send to her. Possible answers are:

A value or set of value, asked for in the command
•
OK, to acknowledge a value send
•
NAK
(“not acknowledged”)
, if information sent was incorrect
(e.g. incomplete set of values or a value outside the range)
If there is no response to a command, either the connection is interrupted
(e.g. malfunction-
ing cable or interface)
or the command did not end in a carriage return
(0x0d)
.
Each single instruction can be tested by means of the “MDC Communicator“ software. This
software is contained on the CD included in the delivery. Information about handling and in-
stallation of this software package can be found in the manual also contained on the CD.
INFORMATION! (Commands for F-valve)
The commands FV:SHOWMNL, FV:SET:<NML-Wert in µm> and FV:CALIBRATION only work, if
there is a valve of the MDV 3200F series connected.
INFORMATION! (Command only possible with RTC)
GETTD only works, if the MDC has an RTC
(Real Time Clock)
