Driving off Trailer
Step 1: Remove tie-down straps or chains.
Step 2: Refer to “Starting Procedure,” page 22-1.
Step 3: Prepare machine to be unloaded.
Step 4: Align machine with the trailer ramps, with the heavy end on the uphill side.
Step 5: Position loader arms to avoid having to move the attachment while driving down the ramps:
• Before backing down the ramp, the attachment should be raised just enough so the attachment
will not contact the ramps as the tracks leave the ramp.
• Before driving forward down the ramp, the attachment should be raised just enough to prevent
the attachment from contacting the ground as the machine reaches the end of the ramps.
Step 6: Slowly move machine down the ramp to the ground. Minimize steering while on the ramps. Steering
while on the ramps may result in the machine driving off the ramps or cause the ramps to move and
drop off the trailer deck.
