WIRELESS STATUS AND
BASIC SECURITY SETTINGS

On the Wireless Status page for either 2.4 GHz or 5 GHz,
the following information displays:
•
Radio Enabled
- displays whether the wireless radio
is active. When the radio is not enabled, no wireless
devices will be able to connect to the home network.
•
SSID
- displays the SSID (Service Set Identifier) shared
among all devices on a wireless network. The SSID is
the network name. All devices must use the same SSID.
•
Channel
- displays the channel the wireless connection
is currently using.
•
Security Enabled
- displays the type of security active
on the wireless connection as well as the security
encryption key.
•
SSID Broadcast
- displays whether your Fios Router
is broadcasting its SSID. If activated, the SSID of your
Fios Router wireless network is broadcast wirelessly.
If not activated, the SSID is hidden and the wireless
clients must be manually configured to use the SSID.
•
MAC Authentication
- displays whether your Fios
Router is using MAC (Media Access Control) address
authentication to allow wireless devices to join the
network.
•
Wireless Mode
- displays the types of wireless device
that can join the network.
