Locating hardware serial numbers
You can locate the serial numbers on the hardware to record the units that you
need to install.
Serial number location for the NetBackup 5230 Appliance
The serial number of the appliance is located on a vertical bar on the rear panel.

Serial number location for the 3U16 storage shelf
The serial number of the 3U16 storage shelf is located on the rear panel of the
storage shelf. On the right side of the shelf pull the white tab from the storage shelf.

Note:
Earlier models of the storage shelves may have two numbers. The HOST
number applies to an appliance, which you can disregard. In these models the
STORAGE number is the serial number for the storage shelf.
