Install the Ruby Software on the Workstations
On multiterminal systems, once you have verified that the entire system is
working with the controller, install the Ruby application software that
supports the HPV-20 feature on the workstations.
1. When selecting the site configuration in Gemstall, do the following:
a. Select ‘RubyLink’ as the “Back-Office” option in Gemstall.
b. Assign RubyLink to the COM port to which you will connect the
USB-to-serial, 9-pin converter. (In the Hardware Setup
procedures, see step 9.)
c. Select ‘HPV-20’.
d. Assign the COM port for the HPV-20 to ‘None’.
Note:
Only the Ruby controller (with RS-232 cable connected to it)
is COM 1; select COM “None” for all other Ruby terminals.
2. When you have finished installing the software on the workstation, go
to page 17and perform the Set Up the HPV-20 System Hardware
procedure starting with step 16.
