14. Fuel Filler Tube & Support:
Decide where the fill will be (there are two options):
1. Similar to original location but shorter - to clear the bottom of the pickup body when
the body is raised. The pickup body will have to be raised to fill tank. Or as shown in
figure 14 above, Option 2, positioned so the fuel fill tube is under the Left Wheel House
above the left rear tire. The pickup body will not have to be raised to fill the fuel tank.
2. As shown in figure 14 above ("Option 2") positioned so the fuel fill tube is under the
Left Wheel House above the left rear tire. The pickup body will not have to be raised
to fill the fuel tank.
Gas/Fuel Filler option 1:
Cut the bottom of the steel tubes as required. Be sure to remove the Over Flow Ball
Assembly that is inside the bottom 3" of the large tube and reinstall inside the bottom of
the fill tube. Be sure the Pickup Body or Longitudinal Supports (option) do not interfere
with the fill tube when reassembled.
Gas/Fuel Filler option 2:
Cut 3" off the bottom of both steel tubes, be sure to reinstall the Over Flow Ball Assembly
inside the bottom of the fill tube. Slide the steel tube down into the flexible tube about 1"
from the bend in the steel tube. Rotate the tube toward the rear of the truck. Be sure the
Pickup Body or Longitudinal support (option) does not interfere with the fill tube when
reassembled.
See Figure 14 above. Bolt the fuel filler support bracket to the truck frame. Hose clamp
the fuel filler tube to the support bracket.
