OPERATION
After the hardware is set-up as described in the Hardware section of this manual, the receiver is ready for
use. The VR100 receiver is menu-driven, beginning at the Main display. The menu options are mapped
out below and explained in detail in the sections to come.
When the VR100 is powered, the welcome screens appear while the receiver is booting up. After the boot
process is complete, the Main menu appears in the LCD screen. From the Main menu, there are two
selection options, Monitor and Configure (Config). Monitor is used to track and monitor acoustic tags. Its
features are described in the Monitor section (section 4.2). The Configure selection is used to configure
the VR100 receiver. This includes setting up tags, selecting code maps, turning channels on and off,
adjusting the contrast, turning on the backlight, and other features. The features are listed and explained in
the Configure section (see section 4.3).
NOTE:
The “Monitor” option is only displayed in the Main menu screen when at least one channel has
been turned on. Setting up a channel and turning it on is explained in section 4.3.1.
