Instructions For
The Motorized Control Rod

WARNING:

When using electric tools, basic safety precautions

should always be followed to reduce the risk of fire, electric shock,
and personal injury:

1)

Do not store or carry battery so that metal objects can contact
exposed metal end. For example, do not place battery in aprons,
pockets, tool boxes, drawers, etc. with loose nails, screws, keys, etc.
Battery could short circuit causing fire, burns or damage to battery.

2)  Never attempt to open the battery for any reason. If the

housing of the battery breaks or cracks, discontinue use
immediately and do not recharge.

3)  Do not incinerate the battery; it can explode in a fire. Leakage

of liquid from batteries can occur if damaged. If the outer seal
is broken and this leakage gets on your skin:

a. Wash quickly with soap and water.

b. Neutralize with a mild acid such as lemon juice or vinegar.

c. If the battery liquid gets in your eyes, flush them with

clean water for a minimum of 10 minutes and seek
immediate attention.

MEDICAL NOTE:

The liquid is a 25-35% solution of potassium hydroxide.

4)  Charge batteries with VersaPak battery charger. Charger

recharges batteries in approximately three hours. Remove
battery charger from the outlet after charging.

5)  Do not use charger in wet or damp conditions. It is intended

for indoor use only. Do not use near sinks, tubs, etc. Do not
immerse in water.

6)  Do not use charger for any uses other than charging

VersaPak Batteries. Other batteries may explode.

7)  Do not operate charger with damaged cord or plug. Have

them replaced immediately.

8)  Do not operate charger if it has received a sharp blow, been

dropped, or otherwise damaged in any way.

9)  Do not disassemble charger. Incorrect reassembly may result

in electric shock or fire. There are no consumer serviceable
parts inside.

10) For best results, do not charge batteries when they or the air

temperature is below 40°F or above 105°F.

11)  The charger is designed to operate on standard household

electrical power (120 volts AC only). Do not attempt to use it
on any other voltage.

12)  Unplug charger when not in use.

13)  Do not abuse charger cord. To reduce the risk of damage to

electric plug and cord, never carry charger by cord or roughly
pull it to disconnect from receptacle. Keep charger cord from
heat, oil, and sharp edges.
