Following the instruction one can adjust the wheelchair
oneself in changing circumstances without having to
consult the manufacturer. Since different people have a
different posture and there are big differences between
handicaps, it follows a wheelchair can be adjusted to the
individual and not the other way round. The many
adjustment options of such a wheelchair have many
benefits for optimising a comfortable sitting position.
However, there is a disadvantage, too:


The application of injudicious adjustments may have an
adverse influence on sitting comfort and the actual use!
If we assume the wheelchair is properly adjusted when
delivered, further adjustment will be needed in the case of
growing up or on medical advice. It also may appear after
some practice it is desirable to adjust certain parts.
On the basis of the following step-by-step instruction the
correct adjustment of the wheelchair is achieved in the
most logical and effective manner. For the correct
adjustment of the wheelchair to the needs of the user a
correct execution of the steps is required. Every
adjustment is dealt with separately. In actual practice
every adjustment affects the sitting position and/or the
sitting balance to a certain degree. Therefore, check after
every adjustment whether these have been affected and
need to be corrected.
In the description of the various adjustments hand-
tightening of bolts and nuts is used. What is meant is a
tightening moment of 10 Nm.
