 Before you start

• Make sure skin is dry, with no traces of creams, anti-perspirant or oils on it. For best results use baby powder to absorb any moisture, especially on bikini and underarms.

• For best results, your hair needs to be at least 2 mm long before waxing. But if it’s longer than 5mm, it will be more comfortable to trim hairs before you wax.

 Heating the wax

• Place the pot on a flat surface and remove the spatula from its storage location. • Place the appropriate number of wax discs for the body area you wish to depilate (see

side of carton) into the pot and replace the lid. • Plug in the pot. The pot will light up with a red glow, to indicate it is powered and heating. • During the heating process,

stir the wax as frequently as desired using the spatula provided, holding at the Veet logo end. You can scrape excess wax from the spatula on the scraper bar inside the

pot. Leaving the lid on the pot will ensure the fastest heating time. • The wax is ready to use when it achieves a smooth, liquid consistency. This process will take

approximately 30 minutes (if melting 4 discs). The pot is designed to melt and keep the wax at the ideal temperature throughout the depilation session.

 Applying the wax

If you have not waxed before, we recommend starting by removing hair from the legs. Only when you have experience then progress to the sensitive areas of underarm and

bikini line. We recommend to not wax the same area of skin twice during a waxing session.
• Using the spatula, scoop some wax from the pot (equivalent to the size of a large nut), and rotate the spatula to avoid drips and threads whilst transferring to your leg.

• Spread the wax in the direction of hair growth (from knee to ankle), applying a strip to the thickness of an orange peel (this will be easier to peel and give the best results)

• Try to make the end of the strip (towards ankle) thicker so that you can grip it when you remove it. You can do this by applying extra wax at the lower end of the strip, if you need to. You can scrape any excess

wax from the spatula back into the pot by using the scraper bar inside the pot.

• Take care not to get excessive amounts of wax on the outside of the pot as the lid may become difficult to remove over time.

 Removing the wax

• Wait for 30 to 60 seconds until the wax strip becomes dry to the touch.

• Hold your skin taut. Grasp the thicker end of the wax, and pull the strip back as quickly as you can, against the direction the hair grows (from ankle

to knee). Pull the strip back on itself, close to the skin rather than away from it. Be brave – the faster you pull, the more hair you’ll remove. To soothe

the skin immediately after you remove the strip, press the area with your hand.

• Use some used wax or baby oil or Veet Perfect Finish™ Wipes (available in selected retailers) to remove wax traces. This wax doesn’t come off with water, soap or alcohol.

Using Veet Spawax on your legs

• Spread the wax slowly from knee to ankle. The wax strip should be approximately the length of the spatula.

• Pull the wax off by pulling it back on itself against the direction of hair growth (from ankle to knee), close to the skin.

Using Veet Spawax on your underarms

• Underarm hair tends to grow in two different directions: the upper part grows upwards, and the lower part

downwards – so it will need to be removed in two stages.

• Lift the elbow up and well back to tighten the skin.

• Use the spatula to apply the wax.

• For the upper part of the underarm, apply the wax in layers upwards towards the elbow. For the lower part of the underarm, stroke the wax downwards.

• Pull the wax off by pulling it back on itself against the direction of hair growth, close to the skin.

Using Veet Spawax on your bikini line

• Only use on small areas at a time.

• Holding the skin taut, use the correct end of the spatula to apply a layer of wax in the direction of hair growth (generally towards the inner thigh).

• Pull the wax off by pulling it back on itself against the direction of hair growth, close to the skin.

 After waxing

• Skin may be slightly red after waxing. This is normal, but bathing the area with cool water will help to soothe. • If you feel a bit of irritation, don’t scratch. Instead, gently press your skin

with your hand. Any discomfort shouldn’t last – if it does, see your doctor. • If you tend to get ingrown hairs, it helps to exfoliate and moisturise your skin regularly.

 Ask the Veet specialists

How does waxing affect hair growth?

Waxing won’t slow your hair growth. But if you wax regularly, your hairs will grow back fewer, finer, and softer.

How quickly will my hair grow back? And how soon can I wax again?

With Veet waxing you can enjoy up to 4 weeks of beautifully smooth skin. But how quickly hair grows back varies a great deal from person to person. We advise waiting 72 hours before

you wax again. Also, make sure that your hair is 2 mm or longer so that the wax has enough to grip onto for good results.

In some areas, I can’t tell which way my hair grows. Can you help?

Sometimes, hair can grow in more than one direction: for example, it’s common for underarm hair to grow upwards at the top, and downwards at the bottom. If in doubt, stroke the hair

so that it lies flat. The direction it lies flat, and doesn’t feel uncomfortable when you stroke it, is the direction of growth. So when you wax, this is the direction you need to pull against.

 Cleaning Instructions

The pot doesn’t require internal cleaning as any remaining wax can be reheated for your next waxing session. However you may need to clean the outer rim of the pot and the spatula after each use following the instructions

below.

Cleaning the spatula after each use

1.  Remove excess wax from the spatula using the scraper bar

2.  Use some baby oil or Veet Perfect Finish™ Wipes (available in selected retailers) to remove the remaining wax residue from the spatula and from the scraper bar

3.  Wipe the scraper bar on the pot with a clean piece of dry kitchen cloth to remove the oil residue

4.  Place the clean spatula into the pot for storage

If you want to clean the rim of the pot after use

1.  Ensure the pot has been switched off but is still warm

2.  Use some baby oil or Veet Perfect Finish™ Wipes (available in selected retailers) to remove any excess wax from the rim of the pot

3.  Ensure the locking mechanism is free of wax residue

4.  Wipe the rim of the pot with a clean piece of dry kitchen cloth to remove the oil residue

5.  Leave the pot to cool then store pot away until next use

If you have difficulties removing the lid before use

If wax gets on the outer rim of the pot the lid may become difficult to open. To solve this:

- Turn the pot on and leave to heat for at least 10 minutes (longer may be required if a large amount of residue is present)

- When the wax has softened, twist to unlock and remove the lid more easily, then progress to cleaning the rim of the pot as per above.

Precautions

- Do not use a sharp object to remove solidified wax or clean the pot.

- Do not leave the spatula in the wax

- The wax pot will be warm please take care not to touch the central tower when in use or cleaning the rim

- Do not clean the left over wax in the pot as the pot is designed to reheat the remaining wax for the next session

- Do not allow contact with or immerse the pot in water. The wax is not water rinsable. Water and soap will not clean the wax. Use some baby oil or Veet Perfect Finish™ Wipes (available in selected retailers)

If in the future you want to swap between Veet Spawax discs fragrances, be reassured that any mixing of the waxes in the pot will lead to only aesthetic differences and will NOT compromise the efficacy of the product.
