Settings

Working with the VDO SmartTerminal

© Continental Automotive GmbH

S/N

Displays the unique serial number of the device

This is required for a standalone installation, for example,
in order to create a USB stick with the configuration for the
device.

IP address

Shows the current IP address if the VDO SmartTerminal is
connected with the network

This is required for a network installation, for example, if
the automatic configuration is not working.

Select

You can change the current language  on the device using the language set-
ting.

Generally, the VDO SmartTerminal switches the language as soon as a driver
card is inserted, so that the driver can use the corresponding language which is
stored on his/her driver card. However, if the driver wishes to change the lan-
guage while his/her driver card is inserted, he/she can do so via this setting.

As soon as the driver card was removed on the VDO SmartTerminal, the
VDO SmartTerminal switches back to the language which was originally set.
