Esta guía está prevista para ayudarle a instalar el dispositivo de registro
electrónico (ELD) RoadLog rápida y fácilmente. Las instrucciones
completas del RoadLog, incluida la información adicional de instalación,
se encuentran en el Manual del propietario del RoadLog o en línea en

ANTES DE COMENZAR:
• Para evitar daños al vehículo o el riesgo de choque eléctrico, siempre
consulte el manual del propietario o un taller mecánico local para
confirmar la ubicación de los alambres eléctricos y las mangueras de
aire. Si no está seguro dónde se encuentran los alambres eléctricos,
desconecte la batería del vehículo antes de comenzar.
• Tenga cuidado de no torcer, doblar ni anudar los cables o alambres
eléctricos durante la instalación.
• Asegúrese de que ni los cables ni los alambres toquen orillas filosas.
HERRAMIENTAS
RECOMENDADAS:
1. ¡Asegúrese de que el juego de accesorios para
la instalación sea el correcto para su vehículo!
El RoadLog se puede conectar con un cable básico de extremo
abierto o un cable con conector de 6 pines, 9 pines, o 16 pines
OBDII. Solamente se requiere un cable. Elija uno que le quede al
conector o elija uno de extremo abierto si no tiene un conector y
conectará los alambres individuales al vehículo.
(Es recomendable
que un profesional realice la instalación con cable básico. Cuando
se usa el cable básico, el cable del sistema de arranque debe estar
conectado.)
Los cables se suministran con un soporte básico. Los cables en Y
son una mejora opcional que conserva un conector de cable abierto
en la cabina.

2. Elija la opción de montaje.
El soporte “básico” se incluye en el juego de accesorios para
la instalación.

3. Elija la ubicación de montaje.
IMPORTANTE: Elija un lugar práctico para la operación, pero
que no obstruya la vista de la carretera. La unidad se debe
colocar a por lo menos 10 pulg. (20 cm) del conductor.

6. Conecte el cable al puerto de
datos del vehículo.
Tienda el cable del RoadLog al
puerto de datos del vehículo. El
cable se puede instalar por detrás
de los paneles del tablero interior,
en los espacios entre éstos o si es
necesario, los puede quitar.
Enrolle el exceso de cable de modo
que no le estorbe al conductor y
asegúrelo con amarras de plástico.
Conecte el cable en el puerto de
datos del vehículo. El dispositivo se encenderá y estará listo para la
configuración inicial en pantalla.
NOTA: Si usa el cable de extremo abierto, siga las indicaciones de
cableado indicadas abajo.
7. Instale el Roadlog en el soporte.
Soporte básico:
Coloque el RoadLog en el soporte básico e instale
las perillas. Ajuste el ángulo visual de la pantalla y luego apriete las
perillas.
8. Instale el rollo de papel.
Para instalar el rollo de papel
(Pieza # 3290-90010100),
abra la tapa de acceso que se
encuentra en la parte superior
del RoadLog, coloque el rollo
de papel en la cavidad y jale la
orilla del papel hacia la pantalla.
El rollo se debe instalar de modo
que al salir el papel, se enrolle
hacia la parte trasera de la
unidad.
9. Etiqueta de cumplimiento.
La aplicación de la etiqueta adjunta en
la cabina es opcional, pero al hacerlo se
asegurará de que si alguien la ve sabrá
que su vehículo cumple con las normas
de ELD.

4. Acople el soporte.
El soporte se puede instalar con las almohadillas adhesivas de hule
espuma. Cuando use las almohadillas adhesivas de hule espuma,
asegúrese de limpiar la superficie, con movimientos en una sola
dirección, con una toallita de alcohol suministrada en el juego de
instalación. Deje que se seque y aplique la cinta con el lado rojo
desprendible apuntando hacia el tablero. La cinta se seca en 24-48
horas. Para obtener mejores resultados es recomendable primero
calentar la cabina si la temperatura ambiental es baja.
5. Prepare el RoadLog.
Desempaque el ELD. Retire la tapa de servicio de la parte inferior.
Introduzca la pila. Conecte el cable. Cierre la tapa de servicio.
Abra el panel de servicio
haciendo palanca con un
destornillador pequeño
de cabeza plana.
Enchufe el conector
de la pila en la toma
y coloque la pila en
su lugar.
Verifique las marcas y
enchufe el cable de datos.
Coloque el cubrecable de
tubo flexible.
Cierre la tapa de
servicio y atorníllela
con los tres tornillos
incluidos en la caja.

This guide is intended to help you get your RoadLog Electronic
Logging Device (ELD) installed, up and running quickly and easily.
Complete instructions for the RoadLog, including additional
installation information, can be found in the RoadLog Owner’s
Manual or online at www.vdoroadlog.com/user.
BEFORE STARTING:
• To avoid damage to the vehicle or risk of electric shock, always
confirm the location of electric wires and air lines by consulting
the vehicle’s owner’s manual or your local vehicle repair facility.
If there is any uncertainty about the location of electric wires,
disconnect the vehicle battery before starting.
• Be careful when installing cable or wires to avoid kinks, knots
or twisting in the line.
• Be certain cable/wires are not rubbing on sharp edges.
RECOMMENDED
TOOLS:
1. Make sure you have the correct
installation kit for your vehicle!
RoadLog can be connected with 6-pin, 9-pin, 16-pin OBDII or
open-end “basic” cable. Only one cable is required. Choose
the one that fits your connector or choose the open-end if
you have no connector and will connect individual wires to the
vehicle.
(For basic cable, installation by a professional shop is
recommended. When using the basic cable the ignition line
should be connected.)
Each cable is supplied with the basic installation bracket.
Y-Cables are an optional upgrade that retain an open cable
connector in the cab.
2. Choose your mounting option.

4. Attach your bracket.
The bracket can be attached with the adhesive foam pads. When
using the adhesive foam pads be sure to clean the surface with a
single direction swipe by using an alcohol prep pad supplied in an
installation kit. Let it dry and apply the tape with red peel side down
towards the dash. The tape will cure in 24-48 hours. The best
results are achieved when the surface is warm so you may want to
warm up the cab if the ambient temperature is low.
5. Prepare the RoadLog.
Unpack the ELD. Remove the service panel on the underside.
Insert the Battery. Connect the cable. Close the service panel.
Pry open the service
panel with a small,
flathead screwdriver.
Plug the battery
connector into the jack
and place the battery into
the holder.
Check marking and plug
the data cable. Attach
the corrugated pipe.
Close the service
panel again and
insert the three
screws included in
the box.
6. Connect cable to vehicle data port.
Run the cable from the RoadLog to the vehicle data port. The cable
can be run behind the interior dash panels via gaps between them
or by their removal where necessary.
Secure the cable out of the
driver’s range of motion and
moving parts – coil up and
secure the excess cable by
using zip ties provided. Connect
the cable to the vehicle data
port. The device will power up
and be ready for the initial on
screen setup.
NOTE: If using the Open
End Cable, follow the wiring
indications shown below.
7. Install RoadLog into mount.
Basic bracket:
Place the RoadLog into the basic bracket and
install the knobs. Adjust the screen view angle and then tighten the
knobs.
8. Load paper roll.
To load the paper roll (Part
#3290-90010100), lift the access
panel at the top of the RoadLog,
lay the paper roll into the cavity
and pull the leading edge of the
paper forward, towards the
screen. The roll should be
inserted so that when the paper
comes out, it curls towards the
back of the unit.
9. Compliance sticker.
Applying the included sticker to your
cab is optional, but doing so will ensure
anyone who sees it knows your vehicle
is complying with ELD regulations.
