Only use the specified charger unit for charging the battery. Do not charge any other
batteries with this charger unit. The mains adapter should only be used together with this
charger unit  and the appropriate battery pack.

The charger unit should only be used in a dry environment at temperatures between 10°C
and 40°C.

Do not use the charger unit if it is damaged.

Only have the charger unit and the battery repaired by an authorised after-sales service
department.

Avoid short-circuiting the battery. Ensure that the battery terminals do not come into
contact with metal objects.

Do not keep the battery in places where the temperature can reach 50°C and more, for
example in a car parked in the sun.

Do not attempt to burn the battery.

Never try to open the battery.

If battery fluid (a 25 to 30% solution of potassium hydroxide), comes into contact with the
skin, immediately rinse the skin with plenty of water. Neutralise the solution with a mild
acid, such as lemon juice or vinegar. If the solution comes into contact with eyes, rinse
them with running water for at least ten minutes, and then consult your doctor.

8  OPERATION

8.1

Charging the battery :

(For the charger unit and battery capacities, see Technical data)

8.1.1

Before start-up :

When you have used the battery intensively, you should let it cool down +/- 10 minutes
before recharging.

Keep rechargeable battery away from heat and fire.

Don't store the device close to  heat sources or in direct sunlight. Protect it against
temperatures above 50°C.

8.1.2

Charging :

Charge the battery before you use the cordless drill for the first time.

Slide the direction switch (2) to the centre setting before you take the battery out of the
machine. This will ensure that the drill will not start accidentally.

Press the side snap fastening (6) and remove the battery (5).

Place the power supply plug in a 230V/50Hz socket.

Place the battery into the charger station. The incorrect position has a block - do NOT use
force.

In order to fully charge the battery cell, the charging time in the first charge cycles must be
7 hours. After that, charging time will be only 3-5 hours   Once the battery is fully charged
you have to pull the plug from the socket, the battery does not automatically stop charging.

The charger station has a red LED light.

When the adaptor is plugged in, the red LED light of the charger station doesn't work.

Place the battery into the charger station. The incorrect position has a block - do NOT use
force.

When properly connected, the red light illuminates automatically which means the battery
is charging.

When the battery is loaded, the red light keeps illuminating  until the charger is
disconnected from mains power.

A full battery will not discharge, even if it is not being used.

Never completely discharge the rechargeable battery.

You will have long service life if the rechargeable battery is regularly loaded and then
recharged.
