The VL6 spot luminaire is a silent, fully-automated lighting instrument.
The luminaire uses a 400 watt short arc lamp in a cold mirror reflector with
a two-wheel, interchangeable color and gobo system using eleven, easily
changeable, user-selectable color or gobo choices. The rear housing
provides access to the lamp, through which the beam shape may be
adjusted.
An aluminum-bladed dimmer mechanism provides full field dimming and
allows for smooth timed fades and strobe effects. A mechanical iris
provides continuous beam size control for both rapid changes and smooth
timed beam angle changes. Variable beam focus is available to soften
edges of gobos or spots. Lamp power is provided through an APS6 power
supply module installed in a SixPack chassis. Three lenses are available
for the luminaire: narrow, medium, and wide field of view.
All VL6 luminaires are compatible with both the Series 200 and Series 300
VARI*LITE automated lighting systems, responding to control by all
Artisan®, Artisan®Plus, and mini-Artisan®2 consoles. The luminaires
can also be operated from a DMX-512 console.
A truss hook and floor stand allow flexible installation.
