equipment within or related to the system can ignite flammable or
explosive gases or vapors, resulting in injury, death, or damage.
Consult site documentation or personnel to determine the presence of
and hazards posed by gases in the vicinity of the system.
At the end of service life of any component of the system, dispose of the component safely
and in accordance with local regulations for the disposal of electronic components.
Warranty Information
A new imaging system is warranted against defects in materials or craftsmanship for a
duration defined in the terms of sale. Refer to the terms of sale or service contract for specific
coverage information, or contact the sales organization or Varex with any questions regarding
warranty coverage.
The system must be installed, operated, and serviced in accordance with the instructions and
specifications provided in this manual and other product documentation. Failure to comply with
documentation can void the product warranty. Activity that can void the warranty includes, but
is not limited to:
• Negligent use, abuse, or misuse of the equipment, regardless of intention.
• Use of the equipment for purposes other than those for which it was designed. See
on page 6.
• Use of the hardware or software that does not comply with the seller’s FDA, CSA, and
VDE guidelines or applicable standards.
• Storage, transport, or operation of the equipment in an environment outside of the
specifications provided in this manual. See
on page 24
and other product component documentation, such as that of the detector or host X-ray
generator.
• Installation or use of any software on the computer that was not originally installed,
provided, or approved by Varex.
• Unauthorized repair or alteration of the equipment or software.
• Connection of any hardware or equipment to the system that has not been provided with
the system or designed for such use, unless specifically authorized by Varex.
Inspect the components
About this task
On receipt of a new system, inspect all packaging and verify that all required components
are present, intact, and undamaged. If damage to packaging or contents is apparent, contact
Varex immediately. Do not proceed with installation or service if any component or cable is
missing or damaged.
