engine oil currently being used to achieve a satisfactory
level, by adding oil at engine oil fill port [

If the engine is due for an oil change, or if operating
conditions require more frequent change intervals than
the normal routine maintenance schedule given in this
section, consult the Engine Operator’s Manual for oil
change scheduling, and the procedure on how to change
the engine oil.
6.5.9.3 REPLACING THE ENGINE OIL
Refer to
Figure 6-21
. Replace the oil filter
at least every
other oil change (every 200 hours of operation).
Always use a genuine Kohler
®
oil filter. Replace the oil
filter as follows:
1. To keep dirt, debris, etc., out of the engine,
clean the area around the dipstick [

];
remove the dipstick.
2. Remove the oil drain plug [
F
], and let the oil
drain into a receptacle container such as an
automotive oil pan. Allow ample time for
complete drainage.
3. Reinstall the drain plug [
F
] and torque to 13.6
Nm (10 ft-lb.).
4. To keep dirt, debris, etc., out of the engine,
clean the area around the oil filter [

];
remove the oil filter.
5. Wipe the surface with a clean cloth where the
oil filter mounts.

is two (2) quarts (system), 1.75 (service).
