Introduction

This section describes various options that are available for the VC350A system. Options for the VC350A system
include:

Glue-pressure relief systems

•

Channel II upgrade

•

Scanner logic module kit

Glue-Pressure Relief Systems

Currently, there are three types of glue-pressure relief systems available:

•

Automatic glue-pressure relief valve

•

Pressure-relief accumulator

•

Pressure-balancing regulator

Automatic Glue-Pressure-Relief Valve—Mode 2

An automatic glue-pressure-relief (dump) valve option is available for variable-speed systems. With this option, the
automatic glue-pressure-relief valve is used to divert excess glue in the glue line away from the applicator in order
to avoid puddling during startups and quick stops.

A typical assembly (Figure C-1) includes the following:

•

3-way air valve, 12VDC

•

Air valve connector cable, 33 ft. (10 m)

•

Air tubing/fittings kit

•

Model 366 glue valve

•

Hex nipple reducer, 1/2" NPT x 1/8" NPT

•

Male connector, 3/8" x 1/8" NPT

•

Poly tubing, 3/8", 25 ft. (7.6 m)

Note

!

The entire length of the poly tubing is not used for a single installation. Use the shortest possible length,
and keep the rest of the tubing for future maintenance. The discharge line should be inspected frequently to
ensure that there is no obstruction.

Mechanical Installation of Automatic Glue-Pressure Relief Valve

A glue valve may be installed to the glue regulator in order to purge glue from the regulator. The valve (Model 366)
is installed with a tee fitting on the discharge side of the glue regulator. The valve is activated by a 12VDC, 3-way
solenoid, which is connected to the exhaust circuit of the EPC. The mini 3-way is ususally used for single glue
regulator systems. A 3-way for multiple regulators is also available. Each regulator must have a glue valve on the
discharge side.
