G.4 ASR9 WSP with RVP900 Panel
Architecture
The original ASR9 WSP solution was implemented with the Sigmet RxNet7 Model ASR9/
RIM-1 hardware and an RVP7 signal processor. The original design used an embedded
general purpose computer built by Ampro Corporation that utilized an ISA bus to connect to
the ASR9 specialized radar interface module (RIM) hardware. The hardware was
implemented in a set of programmable logic devices (PLDs) and 4 MB of general purpose
RAM. A block diagram of the original system is shown in the following figure.
