You can extend the number of runway surface state observations by including the following
RWCC components in your weather station:
• Vaisala Data Management Unit DMU703
• Vaisala Digital Road Interface DRI701 (maximum 2 pcs)
DMU703 uses observations from the following sensors for analyzing the surface state:
• Vaisala Embedded Road and Runway Sensor DRS511 (maximum 4 pcs)
• Vaisala Rain Detector DRD11A
• Vaisala HUMICAP Humidity and Temperature Probe HMP155
These observations make it possible to determine the freezing temperature and the risk of
ice formation, and to detect the thickness of water level on the runway surface.
