3.6 Horizontal alignment

The pitch of the drill is adjusted in the field using the push rod (A). The outer side plates must be
completely parallel to the ground when the drill is sowing at the correct depth. Check the horizon-
tal alignment by ensuring that the forward seed coulters sow at the same depth as those at the rear.
This can be done very easily using the Väderstad sowing depth meter. First pack the soil lightly,
then scrape away thin layers of soil until the seeds are exposed. The seeds in all rows should ap-
pear simultaneously. If they do not, the drill is not fully level.

For larger adjustments of sowing depth, the horizontal alignment may require adjustment. To re-
lieve pressure on the push rod during adjustment, the tool bar should be fully pressed down and,
if necessary, the towhook should be lowered.
NOTE! There is a risk of the seed coulters becoming blocked. After adjustment, the push rod must
be locked using the locking tab (B).
NOTE! The ends of the push rod must together not be extended to more than 120 mm.
