Safety information

Dangers due to automatic restart

The vacuum pump restarts automatically when the power supply

is switched off and then back on, e.g.:

ƒ

after a power failure,

ƒ

after switching the vacuum pump off and on,

ƒ

after disconnecting and reconnecting the power plug.

An ongoing process starts automatically when the power supply is

disconnected and reconnected.

>

Ensure that the automatic restart of the process does not

pose any danger to persons or equipment.

>

Take appropriate safety precautions (e.g., shut‑off valve, relay

switch, protection against restart) if an automatic restart of

the vacuum pump can lead to a dangerous situation.

Hazards due to residual energy

After the vacuum pump has been switched off and disconnected

from the power supply, there may still be dangers due to residual

energy:

ƒ

Thermal energy:  engine waste heat, compression heat.

ƒ

Electrical energy: Motor capacitors have a discharge time of up

to 5 seconds.

Please note the following before performing actions:

>

Let the vacuum pump cool down

>

Wait until the capacitors have discharged.

Hazards due to hot surfaces or overheating

CAUTION

Risk of burns from hot surfaces

Depending on operation conditions and ambient condi

tions dangers due to hot surfaces may arise.

>

Avoid direct contact with the surface or wear heat‑re‑

sistant safety gloves if contact cannot be excluded.

>

Provide contact protection if the surface temperature

should be elevated on a regular basis.

Dangers due to

automatic restart of

the vacuum pump

Hazards due to

residual energy

Hot surfaces,

overheating
