Fig2:
Pressure adjustment knob
(these
may differ in looks)
–
turn anticlockwise (to
low pressure) for starting. This will make it
easier to start and also reduce unnecessary
wear on your engine pull start mechanism.
When the engine has started turn the
pressure adjuster clockwise to increase
pressure to suite the task you are
undertaking.
Fig3:
High pressure outlet
: This is where the high-pressure hose
connects.
The image shows the high-pressure hose disconnected and a jet of water
jetting out. This is normally done when priming (getting the air out and
water in) the pump when the machine is used on suction. Run the engine
until you get a strong stream of water jetting out, then stop the engine and
connect the high-pressure hose, then restart with the pressure adjustment
knob set on low pressure.
Fig4:
Engine Fuel tap lever (black) and choke lever (grey)
The figure shown is the starting position before pulling the pull cord when
the engine is cold. Black lever to the right (on position)
–
this stays in this
position throughout the operation ; Grey lever to the left (on position)
–
this
choke lever is moved immediately to the right (off position) when the engine
starts running.
Fig5:
Warm start or trouble start position
- Engine Fuel tap lever (black)
to the right and choke lever (grey) in centre position.
Don’t forget to move
this choke lever immediately to the right (off position) when the engine
starts running
Sometimes the engine will not start because of fuel airlock or fuel that has
gone off. Please carefully follow the procedure on page 19 if you are
struggling to start the engine.
