Before you begin
Before you begin, we recommend you uninstall any other Network Interface Cards (NICs) you
have in your system Refer to your old NIC’s documentation for removal instructions.
Write the serial number of the U.S. Robotics Cardbus 10/100 Mbps PC Card in the space below.
The serial number is located on the NIC and on the NIC’s box.

With your laptop computer turned on, locate an available PCMCIA slot. Insert the U.S. Robotics
Cardbus 10/100 Ethernet PC Card completely into the PCMCIA slot.
Windows 98 Users:
When Windows detects the new hardware, click
Next
. Select
Search for the best driver for
your device
and click
Next
.
Insert the Installation CD-ROM into your CD-ROM drive. Select
Specify a location
, type
D:\
, and
click
Next
. (If your CD-ROM drive uses a different letter, type that letter in place of “D”.) When
Windows locates the driver, click
Next
.
After the driver installation is complete, remove the Installation CD-ROM from your CD-ROM
drive, click
Finish
, and then click
Yes
to restart your computer. When the computer restarts,
the installation procedure will be complete.
Windows 2000 Users:
When the Found New Hardware Wizard detects the Ethernet Controller, click
Next
. Select
Search for a suitable driver for my device (recommended)
and click
Next
.
Insert the Installation CD-ROM into your CD-ROM drive. Make sure that only
Specify a location
is selected and click
Next
. Type
D:\
and click
OK
. (If your CD-ROM drive uses a different letter,
type that letter in place of “D”.) When the correct drivers are found, click
Next
. If you receive
a “Digital Signature Not Found Screen, click Yes to continue the installation.*
After the driver installation is complete, remove the Installation CD-ROM from your CD-ROM
drive, and click
Finish
. You may be then prompted to restart your computer. If you are, click
Yes
and your computer will restart to complete the installation procedure.
