3.5.1 ML420 installation
The following components can be found in the package of ML420:
•
4 3300
Ω
end of line resistors for detection circuit termination
•
2 female plug terminals
•
1 plastic spacer
•
2 fixing screws
•
1 toothed washer
•
3 plastic clips to fix plastic bands to the metal box
In order to install the ML420 optional module, please proceed as indicated below:
•
Turn the control panel OFF by operating on the power supply insulating device, then open the lid of the control panel and
disconnect the batteries.
•
Insert, by pressing gently, the plastic spacer in the hole located in the metallic case on the back of the control panel,
correspondent to the H2 hole located in the module.
•
Insert the JP1 connector of the ML420 module in the “EXPANSION MODULE” connector located in the MCC module or in
the JP3 connector of the previous already connected ML420 module.
•
Gently press the ML420 module in order to stick the plastic spacer in the H2 hole; at the same time, align the H1 and H3
holes located in the module with the threaded bushings located in the metallic case.
•
Insert and fasten one fixing screw in the H1 position of the module.
•
Insert the toothed washer in the other fixing screw and fasten it in the H3 position of the module.
•
Connect further modules if necessary.
•
Insert the plastic clips in the holes located on the back of the case, in correspondence of the module.
•
Perform the electrical connections on the modules. If a detection circuit is not used, insert the end of line resistor in the
circuit terminals. Use the female plug terminals to connect the sheaths of the shield of the detection circuits to the metallic
case which supports the MCC module.
•
Reconnect the positive cable of the batteries, close the cover lid and power the control panel on.
•
Perform the “Cards Initialization” procedure as described in the programming manual.
The outputs of the optional module ML420 cannot drive:
•
type “C” fire detection equipment;
•
type “E” and type “J” alarm and fault signalling transmission equipment;
•
type “G” control equipment for automatic fire protection.
The type of equipment is the one referred to in the EN54-1 standard.
