3.1.2.8 Smart 1-Line Settings
The Smart 1-Line ships with
“default” settings.
For most installations, only some Smart 1-Line settings will need to be re-configured.
The Smart 1-Line settings can be accessed by using the Designer Mode Toolbar. See Figure 12.
Tap or click the Settings button. This will launch the following Smart 1-Line settings menu.

3.1.2.9 Modbus Settings
Tap or click the “Modbus” button to access the Modbus Configuration settings.
There are two possible methods for connecting trip units to the Smart 1-Line.
Refer to Figures 14 and 15.
Select “Modbus RTU” and “COM2” if your trip unit RS-485 network connects directly to the
Smart 1-Line Serial port. (See Figure 2). See example setting window below.
Select the
“Baud rate”.
IMPORTANT: The Baud rate setting on the Smart 1-Line and ALL of the trip units MUST be set to
the same Baud Rate.
NOTE: If any AC-PRO trip units are connected to the RS-485 network, then the Smart 1-Line and
ALL trip units must be set to 9600. (the AC-PRO baud rate is fixed at 9600).
Select the “Parity” to match the trip unit settings. The Parity setting on the Smart 1-Line and all of the
trip units MUST be set to the same setting.
