Credit Modem
With the purchase of the dial-up option, you will receive a DataTran modem. This modem receives power
from one of the 115VAC outlets inside the unit. These outlets should only be used for Unitec certified
optional equipment and are limited to 500mA output each.
The modem is connected to the Carrier board via a serial cable. One end of the cable is attached to the
modem and the other end to the Carrier board. The Carrier board connector is labeled "Channel A, CN11"
(the top serial port on the carrier board).
The phone line connection is provided via a RJ-11 jack on the modem.
Each modem is pre-programmed with the merchant account information before it is shipped. You must
have your merchant account set up in advance for this to be done.

Proximity Sensor
10.10.1
Proximity Sensor
The Portal TI uses an ultrasonic proximity sensor, mounted on the lower right-hand corner of the interior
side of the door, to detect the presence of a customer’s vehicle. The distance at which the proximity
sensor senses a vehicle can be adjusted by turning the small Phillips-head screw located on the back of the
proximity sensor.
