Now observe exactly the indicator hand progression
on the scale and pay attention to the noises that you
hear in the stethoscope.
With the first clear pounding sound, read off the
systolic blood pressure value on the scale and note it
down (Fig. 1).
Listen for the rhythmic knocking in your stethoscope.
With disappearance of the sound or with the last
audible sound, read off the diastolic blood pressure
value on the scale and also note this down (Fig. 2).
