Installation Overview
Installing an iSTAR eX requires the following equipment:
Antistatic floor mat, tabletop mat, wrist strap, and standard tool kit.
3/32" (2.4 mm) screwdriver (supplied with iSTAR eX), the primary tool
needed to secure wires into all the input, output, and reader connectors
Security screwdriver
Small needlenose pliers
5/16" (#10) nut driver (suggested for securing shield wires to a ground
stud)
Small Phillips screwdriver for LCD contacts
Installation Procedure
To install an iSTAR eX
1. Unpack and mount the iSTAR eX enclosure.
2. Connect AC power.
3. Connect Wiegand signaling readers to the GCM, if required.
4. Connect inputs to the GCM, if required.
5. Connect output devices to the GCM relays, if required.
6. Connect output devices to the GCM OC outputs, if required.
7. Connect RM readers to the PMB, if required.
8. Connect Wyreless PIMs to the PMB, if required.
9. Connect I/8 and R/8 boards to the PMB, if required.
10. Connect to the host.
11. Configure the controller and cluster.
12. Configure readers, inputs, and outputs.
13. Complete the installation (secure wiring, remount cabinet door, etc.).
