4. Connect Cameras to BNC Connectors

5. Set Video Termination
16 Camera Units:
4 and 8 Camera Units:
Set video signal termination to 75 Ohms if needed via the Intellex Setup screen.
When the video signal is looped to multiple units through the Camera Out, set the
video signal to Hi-Z on the Intellex Setup screen, then set the last unit to 75 Ohms.
Default Installation: leave the BNC switches set to Infi nity and use the Intellex Setup
screen to set the termination to 75 Ohms.
75 Ohm Termination: with the Intellex power off , set the BNC switches to 75 Ohms and
use the Intellex Setup screen to set the termination to Hi-Z.

1. Connect the Mouse
2. Connect the VGA Main Monitor to the blue
female connector behind the ribbon cable,
then power up the monitor.
Connect the green PS/2 adapter
to the green unit connector.
3. Connect the optional Touch Tracker Dome
Controller to the 9-pin serial connector.
6. Connect the power to the Intellex.
Note: power up the VGA or Flat Panel Monitor
before you power up the Intellex.

It is critical that you select the appropri-
ate time zone in the Windows Operating
System and the appropriate video format
for your location.
Caution! The lower pinhole is used to reset the unit. This is not normally
needed and could cause damage to the software on the hard disk.
The Intellex should be recording live video and displaying the information on the
monitor. The Power LED is illuminated and the fan is running.
Shut down the unit and continue to install alarms and other accessories, as needed, using
the Intellex Installation and Confi guration Guide and the User Guide. Refer to the Manuals
CD for the Installation and Confi guration Guide and the User Guide.

Is the Intellex functioning as described?
If your unit powered up, shut down by using the mouse to select Utility > Shutdown from the
user interface. If the user interface is not available on the monitor, insert the Reset Tool into
the top pinhole of the front panel and push gently on the power switch to shut down the unit.
Then check the following:

If you have checked all these items and the unit fails to power up, or you repowered
your unit and the unit still fails to operate properly, please contact your Tyco/Video
representative.
Power up the unit, listen for the fan to start, and watch for the Power LED (Green = ON).

The Intellex powers up automatically when it is connected to the power source. Video infor-
mation should display on the VGA monitor. The power indicator on the front panel illuminates
when the Intellex powers up.

Attention! L’orifi ce inférieur est utilisé pour réinitialiser l’unité. Cette opération

Éteignez l’unité et continuez à installer des alarmes et autres accessoires, selon vos besoins,
en vous aidant du Guide d’installation et de confi guration Intellex et du Guide de l’utilisateur. Re-

L’Intellex fonctionne-t-il comme décrit ?
Si votre unité a démarré, arrêtez-la en cliquant avec la souris sur Utilitaire > Arrêt dans
l’interface utilisateur. Si l’interface utilisateur n’est pas disponible à l’écran, insérez l’outil de
réinitialisation dans le trou supérieur de panneau frontal et appuyez doucement sur le com-
mutateur d’alimentation pour éteindre l’unité. Vérifi ez ensuite les éléments suivants :

Si vous avez vérifi é tous ces éléments et que l’unité ne démarre pas, ou que vous avec
rebranché votre unité mais que celle-ci ne fonctionne toujours pas correctement,
veuillez contacter votre représentant Tyco/Vidéo.
Mettez l’unité sous tension, écoutez le ventilateur se mettre à fonctionner et regardez le
voyant de marche/arrêt passer au vert (ON).

5. Défi nir la terminaison vidéo
Unités à 16 caméras :
Unités à 4 et 8 caméras :
Réglez la terminaison du signal vidéo sur 75 Ohms (si besoin) par l’écran Réglage d’Intellex.
Si le signal vidéo est bouclé sur plusieurs unités via la sortie caméra, confi gurez le signal vidéo
à Hi-Z dans l’écran de confi guration Intellex, puis défi nissez la dernière unité à 75 Ohm.
Installation par défaut : Laissez les commandes BNC sur Infi nité et utilisez l’écran
Réglage de l’Intellex pour régler la terminaison sur 75 Ohms.
Terminaison de 75 Ohm : L’Intellex étant désactivée, défi nissez les commandes BNC
sur 75 Ohms et utilisez l’écran Réglage d l’Intellex pour defi ner la terminaison sur Hi-Z.

VGA Monitor and any peripherals should be powered up before the Intellex unit
is powered up.
•
Be sure to use an Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS).
•
Be sure to use surge protection for power supply and provide appropriate
grounding.
