5.5.2 Run out compensation

 

This function serves to reduce the error that can be caused by deformations of wheel and tire. 

It is recommended to select the function to get a better accuracy of the measurements. 

Before the rim stroke compensation, remove the brake pedal pusher, block the steering wheel with the steering wheel lock, 

and lift the vehicle with an axle lift. Adjust and block each measuring head individually.

 

 

1  make the measuring head movable

 

Turn the wheel with the wheel clamp until the clincher is vertical. Press the rim run-out 

compensation button              on the control panel of the measuring head, an A (upper LED) blinks, shows screen means 

that the wheel is in ° position 0th an indicator to align the probe appears. After alignment, the indicator a lights 

continuously and on the screen is required to turn the wheel by 180 °.

 

2  rotating the wheel with the wheel clamp by 180 ° in the direction of travel press the rim run-out compensation button again, 

ad B (lower LED) blinks, shows screen means that the wheel is in position 180 °. 

An indicator to align the probe appears. After alignment, the B indicator lights continuously and an indication appears that 

the rim stroke compensation has ended.

Press the rim run out compensation button on the control panel of the measuring head again and delete the displays A 

and B.

 

Do the step 1 till 3 also on the other 3 wheels.
