PX1

Voice Chat + Game Audio

for the

 PlayStation

®

 3

Operating Instructions

The PX combines Ear Force

®

 X gaming headphones

with the Audio Advantage

®

 Amigo USB sound card,

allowing the X headphones to be used with a
PlayStation

®

game console. This gives gamers the

ultimate competitive edge by combining on-line chat
and stereo game audio into an immersive sound
experience.

The integrated design overcomes the limitation of
ordinary communicator headsets that block game
sound from one ear and eliminates voice chat
interference caused by the headset microphone
picking up sound from external speakers. Pump up
the volume without disturbing friends, family or
neighbors.

Hear every nuance of the game - from an opponent
sneaking up behind you to your teammate’s voice
right next to you. Trash-talk online. Block out
distractions. It’s everything you need for an amazing
PS gaming experience.

Configuring the PS3 Settings

After connecting your PX to the PS, you have to configure the setup so that the chat plays

through the speaker output, which means you’ll hear the talkback in the X headphones.

You can do this by setting the PS to play the chat “talkback” (i.e. the voices of other play-

ers) through the System Default Device (which is the PS’s audio outputs). Here’s how:

1. After powering on the PS, go to “Settings” >

“Accessory Settings” > “Audio Device Settings”

2. Click on “Input Device” and select “USB  Device”

 from the options.

3. Click on “Output Device” and change “USB Device”

 to “System Default Device”

4. Click on “OK”. Be sure you DO NOT select “Connect

  Bluetooth”!

5. Back out of “Audio Device Settings” to pull up the

“Accessory Settings” list again.  Now select “Voice Changer”.

6. In the “Voice Changer” screen, adjust the microphone level

so the bar graph barely reaches the red area when you speak

loudly.  It is not recommended to set the level past . (Level

is usually sufficient).

4. Use the mute switch on the X amplifier unit to mute the microphone, if desired.
