STEL Alarm
STEL stands for
S
hort
T
erm
E
xposure
L
imit. When a STEL alarm is selected,
the instrument will inspect the data on a second by second basis,
independent from the selected logging interval. If the mass exceeds the STEL
limit, then a STEL event triggers and the following actions will be taken.
STEL indicator
The STEL indicator
will show Red on the main screen.
Data
Data will be taken of the STEL alarm channel at
a 1 minute logging interval for
15 minutes
.
This data will be stored in a separate file named
STEL_XXX, where XXX will be matched to the
logged data file.
The instrument will also continue to log the mass
concentration data at the logging interval
selected.
STEL Alarm repeat
If the instrument remains over the STEL limit
after the 15 minute interval, or if the instrument
exceeds the STEL limit later during the sample
period, additional STEL files will be generated.
