13 Troubleshooting

Problems with the camera

The camera is turned off.
Turn the camera on (see
chapter 6.1).
The batteries have been
inserted incorrectly.
Reinsert the batteries (see
chapter 5.1).
The batteries are empty.
Replace the batteries (see
chapter 5.1).
The camera does
not do anything.
Camera is still connected to
your computer.
Disconnect the USB cable.
The camera cannot be
operated when it is
connected to a computer.
The camera
cannot be turned
on.
No batteries have been
inserted.
Insert batteries onto the
camera (see chapter 5.1).
The camera does
not react, although
the batteries are
full.
The camera must be reset.
Disconnect the USB cable
and remove the batteries
from the camera. Reinsert
the batteries after
approximately 10 minutes.
The power in the batteries is
low.
Replace the batteries
The camera
suddenly turns
itself off.
NiCd batteries are used.
Use Alkaline or
rechargeable NiMH
batteries.
‘Card Error’
flashes on the
LCD screen.
The memory card has not
been formatted or has the
wrong format.
Format the memory card

This mode is not supported
by Macintosh computers.
Set the camera to the Photo
or Playback mode.

The SD memory card is
locked so that it is write-
protected.
Unlock the card or use a
different SD memory card or
an MMC memory card.
