– Combi 6 (E):
In order to prevent heat accumulation when using the
Combi 6 (E), all 4 warm air connecting pieces must be
attached. The cross-section of the hot air pipes must not be
reduced by pipe connections or the like. If an EN end outlet
that can be closed off is installed in one of the Combi 6 (E)
warm air ducts (e.g. in the bathroom), a second outlet that
cannot be closed off must be installed in the warm air duct.
– Combi 4 (E):
With Combi 4 (E), all four or only three hot air outlets can be
occupied (Truma always recommends four hot air outlets for
optimal distribution of warm air!). If only three hot air outlets
are needed, one of the lower hot air outlets must be sealed
with a blank cover VD (part no. 34310-01). The blank cover
must be firmly pushed into the moulded part of the heater
until it audibly engages and is firmly seated. Please check
that the cover is firmly seated.
If using four hot air outlets, a closable end outlet EN
may be installed in
one
hot air branch. If just 3 warm
air outlets are being used, it must be noted that a second
nozzle that cannot be closed off must be installed in the
warm air duct if an end piece that can be closed off is being
used (e.g. in the bathroom).
The warm air system is designed for each type of vehicle indi-
vidually, on a modular basis. There is an extensive accessories
program available. Diagrams showing optimum hot air system
installation suggestions in all of the common caravan and mo-
tor home models can be requested free of charge from the
Truma Service Centre.
Gas connection
The gas supply’s operating pressure (30 mbar) must
be the same as the unit’s operating pressure (see type
plate).
Choose to route the pipes in a way that will facilitate removing
the unit for service tasks.

The gas supply line (8 mm dia.) must be attached to gas-con-
nection muff (20) with olive screw fitting (19 – included in
delivery). Carefully counterhold with another spanner when
tightening!
Gas-connection muff (20) on the unit may not be shortened
or bent.
Prior to connecting the appliance make sure that the gas lines
are free from dirt, chips and such!
Keep the number of parting connections in the gas supply
line in rooms frequented by people to a technically feasible
minimum.
The gas system must comply with the technical and
administrative regulations of the respective country of use
(e.g. EN 1949 in Europe).
The national legislation and regulations (e.g. DVGW Work
Sheet G 607 for vehicles in Germany) must be observed.
Water connection
For operating the water heater it is possible to use all pressure
pumps and submergible pumps up to 2.8 bar, also all mixing
taps with or without electrical switch.
If using immersion pumps, a non return valve (21 – not in-
cluded in delivery) must be installed between the pump and
the first branch. Observe the direction of flow when installing
the non return valve.

When using pressure pumps with high switching hysteresis,
hot water may flow back via the cold water tap. We recom-
mend installing a non return valve (22 – not included with
delivery) between the outlet to the cold-water cock and
FrostControl as a return flow inhibitor. Observe the direction
of flow when installing the non return valve.

For attachment to the boiler and FrostControl, you must use
drinking water compatible hoses that are pressure-resistant
and hot water-resistant up to 80 °C with an inside diameter
of 10 mm.
For routing rigid pipes (e.g. John Guest System) Truma can
supply the elbow fittings (27 + 28), the FrostControl (24) and
a non-return valve (21 + 22) with a 12 mm inner connection
as accessories. In this case we recommend the use of John
Guest pipes, insertion sleeves and hose clamps in all cases.
When connecting to a central water supply (rural or city
mains) or if using more powerful pumps, a pressure reduc-
tion valve must always be installed which prevents pressures
above 2.8 bar from developing in the water heater.
Route water ho ses as short as possible and free of kinks.
All hose con nections must be secured with hose clamps
(also cold water hoses)! Before the pressure relief valve in
FrostControl triggers, warming of the water and its resulting
expansion may cause pressure of up to 3.8 bar to occur (also
possible with immersion pumps).
Hose clips SC (part no. 40712-01) are suitable for fastening
the hoses to walls or the floor. These hose clips also make it
possible to route water hoses on the heater‘s warm-air distri-
bution pipes as a way to avoid the danger of frosting.
The included elbow fittings (27 + 28) must always be
used in order to completely empty the water and prevent
the water hoses on the unit from leaking over the long-term!
Elbow fitting (28 – with aeration valve) is connected to the
upper warm water connection; the second elbow fitting (27) is
connected to the lower cold water connection.
