Bungee packs are mounted onto delta
maillons. They have an inner safety
sling to prevent them failing in use.
Bungee fall arrest packs are longer
than aerial bungee packs. They should
not be used interchangeably.
Users with higher weight loads will
reduce the life-expectancy of the
bungee.
• Trix Circus is not responsible for any direct,
indirect or accidental consequences, injuries,
damages or deaths resulting from the use of
our products and equipment.
• This user guide does not tell you every-
thing you need to know. Consult with a
qualified rigger.
• Use of Trix Circus equipment is only per-
mitted if you understand and assume all risks
and responsibilities for any damage, injury or
death that may result.
• Everyone using this equipment must be
given this guide and thoroughly understand
the information included in it.
• You must have a rescue plan in place and
the means to implement it.
• Do not use around electrical hazards, mov-
ing machinery, near sharp edges or abrasive
surfaces.
• The use of resin, chalk and other adhesive
grip technologies is highly recommended.
Bungee packs can be dangerous if used
recklessly or without experience. Accidents
happen, therefore it is important that you
never train alone.
• Always take care when playing, training,
rigging or walking near or under your appa-
ratus. Ensure that everyone present remains
aware of the aerial hazards in the space.
• Always ensure that there is a certified
protective crash mat underneath you at all
times.
• Always work with a professional coach to
ensure ongoing safety.
• Always employ a professional rigger to
install your equipment.
• Never use under the influence of alcohol or
narcotics.
Protect your bungee pack from any
substances that may cause the fabric to
deteriorate.
• Store your bungee pack in a breathable
container at room temperature to ensure the
equipment will stay clean between uses.
• Keep your bungee pack indoors between
use and away from any surfaces that are
likely to become wet, hot or cold.
• Bungee material degrades at a much
higher rate when exposed to heat. Keep
your bungee in a cool place.
• Ensure your bungee pack is treated with
care when rigging.
• Never wash or machine dry your bungee
pack. Never expose it to extreme heat or
chemicals.
• We recommend tightening one maillon of
the bungee with a spanner and only using
one end for mounting gear. This will reduce
the possibility of one maillon working loose
during use.
• When the bungee pack has reached the
end of its usable life, return it to Trix Circus
and we may reuse the maillons and the safe-
ty sling to make you a new bungee pack.
Inspection is required before every use.
• Photographically record the bungee at the
start of its lifetime and use this as a compari-
son for inspection. Look for any elastic fibres
extruding from the cotton casing. Check
throughout the entirety of the material. If
any are found, immediately cease use and
contact the manufacturer for a rebuild.
• When using the bungee, be sensitive to
changes in its bounce. If the bungee is no
longer providing the same quality of bounce,
it is a sign that it is at retirement age.
• Regularly check the maillons are sufficiently
tightened and located in the correct posi-
tion. The vibrations of aerial work may work
the screw mechanism lose. For long term
rigging situations, tighten with a spanner.
• Minor fading in colour may occur when
used outside - this may effect the integrity of
the fabric. If excessive discolouration/fabric
defects are found please discontinue use.
Up to two years of use for bungee packs.
This will vary on use and storage conditions.
Single use lifetimes are possible in some
extreme cases.
Repairs or modifications are only allowed
by the manufacturer or those authorized in
writing by the manufacturer.
Trix Circus never recommends repairing or
sewing holes in the bungee.
Acrobatic bungee corde, steel, nylon, tape
Retire from service and destroy if the gear:
• is suspected of being overloaded.
• shows 10% or more physical damage or
deformation in shape upon visual inspection.
• has extruding elastic fibres or no longer
provides the same bounce effect.
• has been misused, altered, damaged,
exposed to harmful chemicals, etc.
Retire if you have any doubt about its safety.
Aerial equipment can be dangerous if used
when rigged incorrectly.
• A suitable anchor and/or structure must be
installed to use the bungee pack. This can
only be assessed by a qualified rigger and/or
a certified engineer.
Bungee packs can be dangerous if used not
correctly in association with other materials.
• Make sure your equipment is compatible
with all other components of your system.
Incompatible connections may result in
equipment failure, injury or death.
*User loads must take into account dynamic forces applied and not exceed the dynamic WLL.
**Users
must only
work within the User Load Limits for the
bungee pack
and not the inner
safety sling.
Aerial and circus arts are inherently dangerous. There is a risk of injury or death that cannot be
eliminated.
