Maintenance and Adjustment
Headlight
1. Horizontal adjustment screw
2. Vertical adjustment fixings
Headlight Adjustment
•
Horizontal adjustment of the
headlight beam is controlled by the
screw in the rim of the headlight.
Turn the screw clockwise to move
the beam to the left and anti-
clockwise to move the beam to the
right.
•
Vertical adjustment of the headlight
beam is controlled by slackening the
headlight assembly mounting bolts
and altering the position of the
headlight assembly.
•
Re-tighten the fixings after
adjustment.
Note:
•
Changes made to the horizontal
adjusters will marginally change
the vertical setting of the headlight
beam. Always allow for additional
adjustment to compensate for this
factor.
Warning
Adjust road speed to suit the visibility and
weather conditions in which the motorcycle
is being operated.
Ensure that the beam is adjusted to
illuminate the road surface sufficiently far
ahead, but without dazzling oncoming
traffic. An incorrectly adjusted headlight
may impair visibility causing loss of
motorcycle control and an accident.
Warning
Never attempt to adjust the headlight
beam when the motorcycle is in motion.
Any attempt to adjust the headlight beam
when the motorcycle is in motion may
result in loss of control and an accident.
